Organisation
The organisation of Highway Projects is made up of 4 areas. Click on each title below to read more about us.
The Core Team: The Core Team is responsible for the day to day running of Highway Projects, and make the decisions about the operation of the work.
The Support Team: This group of people are committed to a specific area of Highway work including volunteer administration, prayer, travel, and publicity & advocacy.
The Team Leaders: This is the group of individuals who have been chosen to lead our teams of volunteers in the Middle East. They are chosen annually by the Core Team.
The Board: The Board of Highway Projects set policy and check that the organisation is financially and legally in good health.
The Support Team
Di Horne - Volunteer Administrator
Di Horne works two days a week for Highway Projects managing everything to do with volunteers, from processing applications, sending out information, and gathering references. She is the first point of call for all volunteers.
Ali Houghton - Publicity Co-ordinator
Ali has been an integral part of the Highway Projects leadership for many years. She is now focussing on publicity and advocacy, managing and producing all of our publicity, and ensuring the organisation is looking outwards and talking to others about the work.
Alex Walker - Prayer Co-ordinator
Alex is the Highway Projects Prayer Co-ordinator, commited to praying for the work, and resourcing others to do so. She helps plan our quarterly prayer and fasting days, and writes prayer diaries for volunteers to use as part of their necessary preparation.
Helen Drinkwater - Travel Co-ordinator
Having previously been the Managing Director of the travel firm Highway Journeys with expertise in pilgrimages to the Middle East, Helen has recently taken over as our Travel Co-ordinator. She works one day a week for Highway Projects, and will be using her connections with UK and Middle East agents to organise all flights, accommodation, orientation days and internal transfers for the teams on their trips.
