In 2009 Highway Projects returned to Cairo and Alexandria to build on the success of the work in 2008.

Egypt is the home of the most ancient civilisation, and a top destination for tourists; but what the tourists don’t see is the massive over crowding, poverty and social fragmentation.

The Highway Projects teams have the unique opportunity to engage with these issues and work alongside two wonderful projects. Our work in Egypt was new in 2008 and so volunteers of 2009 enjoyed the privilege of helping to build up the relationships and the pioneering work there. Come and join us! for 2010
